I know, who can believe it.
The other day I was pleasantly surprised to see snow falling outside my window. Snow happens in Kyoto city proper about once a year, maybe twice–and in most cases it’s melted as soon as you can blink. Do you wanna build a snowman? Good luck with that.
Anyway, I got home, had some hot cocoa, and settled into bed with the snow still falling. It’ll all be gone by morning, I thought.
Imagine my surprise when I woke up, drew back my curtains and was presented with… This!
The streets, to my surprise, had an impressive (for Kyoto) amount of snow.
Not the most exciting post, I realize, but you don’t understand how rare snow that sticks is in downtown Kyoto. For real,I don’t think it did at all last year-end or if it did it was one of those blink-and-you-miss-it situations.
